What to expect from the Liberty Stadium crowd?

There is a massive singing contingent in the East Stand which helps generates a huge amount of atmosphere before the game even kicks off. With the away fans quite far away (in the North Stand), the two contingents can easily sing each other hoarse as they try to one-up each other. The fans are a friendly bunch, with no real track record of violence, so a bit of banter between crowds is usually okay. That said, there are always exceptions, so maybe pull a hoodie over your strip when you’re around the venue.

Swansea FC have been on a fabulous journey since moving into the Liberty Stadium in 2006. In 2011 they finally got into the Premier League (the first Welsh team to do so) and times have been good ever since. Swansea has a reputation for being more of a rugby city than a football one, with their beloved Ospreys also playing at the Liberty, however football is fast being embraced as the atmosphere here is as good as anywhere in the country.
