Borussia Park has a great sports bar built into the stadium itself – Die Sportsbar offers some great beers and some reasonably priced food – however on a matchday it is reserved for VIP Hospitality guests only.
Across the street is a typical German Beerhall – The FanHaus. As you can imagine, the pub is very popular with fans and supporters, with team scarfs lining the walls and a lot of beer being drunk!
Salonika is a similar type pub – very typical and traditional with a great atmosphere on a game day.
If you want something a bit more familiar, there is of course an Irish Bar – the Pog’s is popular with expats and locals as well!
The famous Borussia Park is a bit outside of the inner city which is why you won’t find too many fan pubs within close distance. Nevertheless, about 2km from the stadium there’s the so-called “Borussia Irish Pub” where most home fans meet before and after a match. Great place to go to if you want to meet dozens of locals.
Another bar where there are always Gladbach Fans is called “MaNaMaNa” in the city center. They show every M’Gladbach fan on numerous screens and even brew their own beer. Definitely a place to check out some hours before the home team plays.
Easy: you’ll can do a lot worse than the in-house sports bar behind the West Stand, which is packed before every game with Fohlen fans. That’s the good news. The bad news is that, if you can’t get in – which bearing in mind the popularity of the pub and the dearth of other options, is possible – you’re stuck. The FanHaus on Gladbacher Straße is also an option very much favoured by the Gladbach ultras.
