Great Answer Detroit has cleaned up its act but still isn’t that great of a city and still is rebounding since the recession. The streets right by the stadium are nice and clean but you go a few blocks away and it is not as good.

Detroit isn’t the safest city but has cleaned up the areas around the stadium. I would stick to the streets immediately perpendicular to the stadium and then to the parking. I would also walk in groups.
