Local knowledge says the Uncle Jack’s is the place to go. There are a bunch of positives:
- 10 minutes’ walk from the grounds
- serves real, cask ales and range of delicious beers
- the menu is simple, but very tasty
- it allows away fans
Otherwise, there’s the Fernhurst pub which also permits away fans and is only 5 minutes away – bargain! Some fans choose to water themselves at the Golden Cup pub, but it’s 20 minutes away and pretty petite.

There are a variety of pubs near the ground that are welcoming to away fans. The Fenhurst has long been the designated away fans pubs, and whilst it is still welcoming to football fans – it brands itself a family friendly pub so don’t expect to be singing raucous songs with your pint!
The Fenhurst fills up fast however and once it reaches a certain amount, the pub operates a one in – one out policy and ques have been known to happen. There is a working mens cub just down the road that acts as an overflow as well as ‘Uncle Jacks’
If you don’t mind a little bit of a walk – then you should head to the ‘Navigation’ – in the center of town and right by the canal – it’s a perfect venue to have a few drinks and enjoy some well priced food. Just don’t fall in!
